The A14 Trunk Road is a route of national and European strategic importance, connecting the east coast ports of Felixstowe and Harwich with the Midlands and the North. This project improved the A14 on the section Haughley New Street to Stowmarket. The improvements of this 3.7 km stretch were made up of a new off-line section of dual carriageway and the introduction of a new all access two level junction between Fishponds Way and the existing A14 Stowmarket junction.
